Endovenous laser treatment of varicose veins

Endovenous laser treatment (EVLT) is the minimally invasive ( No cuts, no stitches ) treatment for varicose veins ( engorged and tortuous veins) on one or both lower limbs with or without swelling, pigmentation, sclerosis ( hard skin) , presence of non healing ulcers. Following EVLT, most of the dilated veins resolve immediately though some of them may persist and need further treatment , mostly in the form of injection sclerotherapy. Small venous ulcers heal in 4-8 weeks time with four layer bandaging following EVLT. Large venous ulcers may need plastic reconstructive techniques for wound coverage.
